Is the unlock permanent?
Yes, absolutely. This is a one-time, permanent unlock. You will not need to have the ECU unlocked again in the future.
What happens if a BMW dealer updates the car’s software?
The unlock is not affected by dealership software updates. Even if the car receives a full software update, the ECU will remain unlocked and ready for OBD programming with your AutoTuner tool.
Will I get my original tuned file back?
No. As part of the unlock procedure, the ECU is safely returned to its original factory state (stock software). Any existing tune on the ECU will be permanently erased. You must inform your customer of this before sending the ECU.
Do I have to send the ECU to you in the UK first?
